The $42 billion Wedding Industry does not want you to read this site!

Dear Friends in Christ,

We are Mark & Mel, married April 21st, 2007.

This is a Christ-centered Wedding Planner!

What we offer:
  • Everything engaged couples need to plan their wedding with Christ first on the guest list
  • Contact information to reach us personally and to share concerns and successes you've experienced in taking ownership of planning your wedding together
  • Spiritual Habit Worksheets to enable fiancés to deepen their prayer life together
  • 25% off our book in print, Christ on Your Guest List: Prioritizing the Celebration of Holy Matrimony
Stopping short of pre-cana and marriage encounter considerations, these chapters address necessary steps along the way for a couple's marriage in the Catholic Church that pave the way for a successful marriage.  The goal is a Christ-centered engagement, bridal shower, registry, bachelor party, rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, reception and consecration of unity (wedding night and honeymoon). The rest you can run by your parish priest, check out in a marriage book or seek the support of those who promised to support you in your marriage by attending your wedding.

The perfect opportunity to practice developing unity in the engaged couple's relationship is to become involved together in the planning of the wedding.

Direct Benefits:
  • Bride-to-be is not stressed! (what a novel concept)
  • Groom & Bride practice decision-making, growing in unity and spirituality

I have purposefully intended for this book to supplement pre-cana and engaged encounter by giving couples a call to prepare for Holy Matrimony by celebrating the Sacrament with Christ at the center, just as Christ is the center of their relationship, and, ultimately, their marriage. Why shouldn't the day that makes the unity of love possible be the very example of a Christ-centered celebration?

This is what the $42 billion Wedding Industry wants you to do!

During our engagement, the first wedding planning checklist the bride received:

  • Botox
  • Implants
  • Lyposuction
... the wedding planning site suggested that brides consider what they want to look like on their wedding day. To say the least, the Catholic bride opted out of that autoresponder.

We are thrilled to say that this book will not give you resources for botox, implants or lyposuction. This book will also not address any weight loss quick-fixes. There are numerous and sundry outlets for that in every wedding planning book out there... except this one.

We pray to St. Francis de Sales nightly to give us the courage to write this. If you find yourself hearing it as "telling you what to do" then please take our assurance that it is not a command, it's the truth.

As children of God, we are called to take responsibility of our own health and well-being - physically and spiritually. If you decide to pray with one another about these topics, encourage one another [Scripture] and stay away from an obsession with physical appearances [fragment]. In receiving a sacrament, we are to focus on preparing our souls.
